Leiden Campus

Because of the diversity of our students, there is no “typical” Webster student; this is also reflected in the diversity of interest and activities that they become involved in. The vibrancy of campus life inspires them to pursue a wide variety of activities. Jump into The Canal- the online source of Webster news and views, join student council, play on football team and other sports teams, realize your potential in the International Relations Club, get the picture with fellow members of the Photo Club, attend conferences and networking events, or enjoy the Art gallery. These are just a few of the many interesting activities that make up student life at Webster, and Leiden provides the perfect backdrop for it all, with its many cafés, restaurants and museums.

Our students are encouraged by both our staff and professors to develop their leadership skills as we provide them with opportunities to express themselves through whatever means best suits them. This might include starting up a new club to participate in, attending our Signature lectures on a variety of current affairs, or creating a piece of art to be shown at the Art gallery in the Living and Learning Center.Class field trips have even included trips to South Africa for the World Cup!

Student life at Webster is filled with discoveries, interaction with people from all over the world, and new experiences.

Leiden, a city with a rich past and a bright future–where you see students, bicycles, canals and charming buildings all in one place. The city has been a center of historical and commercial importance for centuries, where new ideas and philosophies were explored and education cultivated. This heritage of education is still very much alive today. And the thirst for knowledge can be quenched in any of the 12 museums that the city has to offer: from prehistoric creatures to the great Rembrandt, who was born in Leiden.
