Leiden is a very historic town, famous for its canals, quaint alleyways and national museums. The city has a total population of 118,000 and life in Leiden is greatly influenced by the large number of students living and studying here. When walking through Leiden, its rich history still seems very much alive. This is where Rembrandt was born and developed his painting skills and where Clusius brought the first Dutch tulips into flower. Leiden has 12 museums, all worth a visit. The priceless and unique collections on show enjoy international fame.
Webster University’s Living and Learning Center is located just 100 steps from our main building in the heart of the old city center. The building was built in 1929 and is a sound example in both its exterior and interior design of the stylish and easy recognizable architecture of a 'Rijksmonument' (National Monument). The location has always been used for educational purposes. It was initially used as a vocational school for young women and most recently housed a language school. In keeping with this educational tradition, it is now home to Webster University's Living and Learning Center.
There are 50 private studio apartments available as well as teaching facilities, a private courtyard, a work out center equipped with changing area and showers, and several community rooms for convenience. The Center will offer on site resident assistance and the office of Student Services is located inside the main entrance.
We aim to provide clean, secure, and enjoyable student housing that all students can enjoy! Please feel free to contact Christine Benninger with any questions, comments, or remarks!

This can be quite a challenge, especially if you are not living in the Netherlands. For more information on housing agencies in Leiden please read the following attachment:
Housing Agencies
Keep in mind that they usually charge a finder's fee equivalent to one month's rent.
Most banks offer this for the items in your house (think of fire and burglary) Make sure you read the fine print. If there is no forced entry, for example, they will not pay out (that means you left a window or a door open).
This is opposed to home owners insurance, which covers the structure of the house. Here are some insurers: www.interpolis.nl (also offered by the Rabobank for a discounted fee if you have a bank account etc there: the more insurances, the bigger the discount) – very good service http://www.ing.nl/particulier/verzekeren/woonverzekering/inboedelverzekering/ http://www.fbto.nl/fbto/nieuwwoon/inbIntroductiePrepareAction.do http://www.ohra.nl/inboedelverzekering/index.jsp http://www.unive.nl/inboedelverzekering Want to compare costs (FINE PRINT!!), check here: http://www.independer.nl/woonverzekering/intro.aspx
