Life Outside the Classroom

Webster University Leiden hosts a wide range of events and activities to entertain, inform and enhance your overall student experience.

For example, our student community organizes a wide variety of events from movie nights, parties, and culture days to guest speakers and debates.

In addition, the university is particularly proud of its academic events. Our conferences, workshops, and forums are highly regarded and regularly attract people from outside the university. Not only will you benefit from attending these events, but the contacts you can develop with visiting working professionals will greatly enrich your learning experience.

Student Council
"Our Student Council is a representative structure for students only, through which they can become involved in the affairs of the school, working in partnership with school management, staff and parents for the benefit of the school and its students."

The student council helps share students’ ideas, interests, and concerns with university faculty and staff. They often also help raise funds for school-wide activities, including social events, community projects and school reform.
You may email comments, ideas, and questions to stuco@webster.nl or benninger@webster.nl

Student Council Mission Statement
To be the Proactive voice for the student body through representation and communication in order to connect students with school spirit and student initiative to achieve the ultimate university experience.

Counseling Services

Reasons for coming to the counseling service may not always be clear and well defined. A general feeling of discomfort, or knowing that some things have not been going well personally, may indicate the right time to clarify your situation in a safe and confidential environment.

All Webster students are entitled to 5 free sessions with the counselor throughout their degree. Students are encouraged to make use of this service during their academic career. The counselors are committed to the concept of accountability and whatever is discussed within the counselling session is dealt with in a strictly confidential manner.
The counseling service is located at the Webster Leiden campus, on Fridays, in a private room. Appointments should be arranged beforehand by contacting the counselor.

Felicia Maer is Webster University's School Counselor and is available to students on Friday mornings. You can reach Felicia by email to set up an appointment: maer@webster.nl.

Felicia is American and has lived in the Netherlands with her Dutch husband since 1998. She has worked as a professional counselor in the U.S and Canada and is currently pursuing a Dutch degree in Art Therapies
