This fall, Webster Leiden Campus opened its doors to a new class of students, marking the start of their academic journey in the Netherlands.

A Record Number of Students

We welcomed one of our largest groups of new students in recent years this August. They have joined us from all over the world, representing countries including the United States, Ukraine, France, Georgia, Turkey, Switzerland, Vietnam, Philippines, Nigeria, Ghana and many more across Europe, Africa and Asia. This mix of cultures and backgrounds is what makes our campus truly international.

Orientation Designed for Success

Our New Student Orientation (NSO) helps students feel at home so they are ready to begin their studies. This year we offered a two-day program with separate sessions for undergraduate and graduate students so that each group received tailored information and support.

In both groups, students took part in icebreakers and activities that encouraged them to connect and make friends. They also received advice on how to succeed at Webster Leiden, along with practical tips for living in the Netherlands.

Highlights from the Program

  • A private guided tour of the Pieterskerk, the historic church where our students will one day celebrate their graduation
  • Icebreakers and activities to build friendships
  • Guidance on settling in and adjusting to life in the Netherlands
  • A canal boat tour from Leidse Rederij, a local sailing company, to see Leiden the best way – from the water!

Looking Ahead

NSO is more than an introduction. It gives students the confidence and community they need for a strong start. With this record-breaking class, Webster Leiden continues to grow as a truly international campus. Our new students are already forming the connections that will shape their time here in Leiden and beyond.
