May 13, 2026

The Next-Gen Impact – Careers Defining the Future career fair brought together 12 companies and more than 115 students for a day of connection, insight and opportunity.
The purpose of this event was to support students in building connections with industry and provide them with the chance to step into their next career opportunity.
Webster Leiden students and alumni engaged directly with employers, explored emerging career paths and gained valuable perspectives on a changing job market. Several organizations also recruited for internships and entry-level roles.
The day opened with remarks from Sheetal Shah, PhD, Academic Director, followed by a keynote by Eric Click, PhD, Head of European Academic Operations, setting a forward-looking tone. A closing plenary led by Sinead Hewson, PhD, Faculty encouraged reflection, while Sandrine Suman, Career Services Officer, and Linda Deigh, PhD, Head of Corporate Partnerships urged students to stay curious, agile and bold in shaping their careers.
“A lot of people think that as a court we only need lawyers, but as many people have echoed here today, we need much more than that," said Delfina Pérez, who is head of Human Resources at International Criminal Court. "The ICC is a very big organization, and we need a wide variety of profiles. Today we heard from students majoring in psychology, business, international relations and sustainability. With everybody, we were able to find something they might be interested in or something we could offer them.”
Participating organizations included International Criminal Court, Leiden International Centre, NEM Energy, Serco Europe and We Are Changemakers, among others.
